First gen is better because it's OBD 1, which means it's chippable (cheap way to tune). A good price for a full D15B swap (tranny, ecu, all) is 600-700 shipped imo. You won't get them for that from an importer though, expect 800-1000 from them. Try ebay. It'll handle boost real well. It's compression ratio is about 9.6:1, near ideal for boost.

The second gen D15B's have 3 stage vtec like the 96-00 d16y5 hx engines. In other words they suck
