Need some advice
So I have a 2004 Honda Civic LX Coupe which is pretty much stock. It looks like 3 of my 4 cylinders have no compression. I don't have the time/money/know how of replacing the engine or working on the head and am looking to sell it but have NO IDEA how much a car without an engine is worth. There were around 130,000 miles on the engine. The car overall is in decent shape. Any idea how much I could get out of it? Any help would be great. Thanks.

How did you figure out that 3 of the 4 cylinders have no compression? With anything it is only worth what someone will pay for it. If someone has a good engine & wants a nicer or newer car it might not be so hard to sell. But without an engine the value drops a lot.

Generally, rolling shells (and that's essentially what you have with two dead cylinders) are worth in the neighborhood of $1k. You could get a little bit more since the engine's the only thing that needs replaced and it's an '04 (basically it's not terribly old). I'd say maybe up to $2k, but I'd honestly be amazed if you saw that much out of it.

The average guy won't buy something that needs an engine. The only guy going to buy a car without an engine is a guy who wants a project & you can bet will want it Cheap, Cheap on a car that new I would pay to put an engine in it. Used engines are cheap by comparison. You can get those imported engines from Japan that only have 20,000-40,000 miles on them. Because of Japan's smog you can only have a car for so long before you can't smog it. They scrap all those thousands of cars & send the drive-trains here for resale USED.
