Cvcrcr's 98 Integra JDM Front - The new DD
it's hilarious to see what people think is "acceptable" when it comes to electrical work. Heh... A PITA for sure, but I'm sure you'll see the humor in it. I no longer get mad when I see stupid stuff done to a car, I just laugh and think about how much fun it'll be to fix it...
I found some more issues when pulling the speakers out of the front doors. For now, the wiring is fixed. I will post a few more pics soon.
Installed the battery (brand spanking new) and after a few tries the car turned on. Idle went to about 3k, then started surging like before. Not really worried about it. Car then quickly shut off randomly. Started her back up, idle droppped to about 1.5k (still surging), and I drove her around the block for the first time in weeks. After a few little tweaks, I was able to clear all CELs except for the VSS but the sensor is bad I believe.
Drove around my neighborhood for about 10 min, came back home, turned her off, and then tried to start her once more, and nothing. Absolutely nothing. No click from the starter or anything, but all the electronics dim when the key is turned.
Either the clutch switch or w/e is messed up, or the starter died on me. Oh well.
Also, I fixed my high beams (I won't go into the wiring mess down there), and found out my radiator is leaking like a b!tch. Good thing my work has a Teg rad just sitting around. One less problem for me to worry about.

Jumped the starter directly to the battery and the car fired right up. Pulled apart the ignition switch today and cleaned all the leads. Still no start. :/
Also replaced the VC gasket, spark plug tube seals, grommets, replaced the radiator with a Mishi unit (Fan shroud and hoses on the way soon, too), pulled CC out (since the wiring for it in the car is non existent at this time), and installed my braided clutch line. The lower crush washer at the MC started leaking so I lost all the brand new fluid I put through there. The seller gave me an extra one with my purchase so I will try it all again on Wednesday.
Lastly, I fixed the fork issue on one side. The fork is falling "off" the bottom of the front strut as I raise the car up. Just had to lock it in a vice and have a pry bar open it up a little bit to fit around the strut 100%. I will fix it on the other side on my day off (Wednesday).
My buddies cat converter finally came in the mail, too. Just have to cut/drill the stripped bolts off it and it'll be good to go.
No pictures today, but I will take a bunch on Wed when I get another chance to play with the car. This starting issue is becoming a nuisance.

Had the day off from work did a bunch of boring work to the Integra. Oil pan gasket, more wire testing for this starting problem of mine, and I tried to get the clutch line to stop leaking (no luck - Emailing eBay seller tonight). Also got my horn working 100%!!
Found a bunch of videos on youtube and many people were saying using a paperclip and the hub will just rest against and just have the power wire from the harness attached to that. Boom! It works perfectly. I couldn't get my steering wheel off for some reason so I had to make due with the space I had available.

No pictures of the oil pan gasket. That's nothing exciting at all. The oil pan gasket had never been changed before I bet. The pan itself was caked in about 4-5mm of crap. Took 2 hours to clean it up and scrap the old gasket off. OoO .. The teg had its first oil change today, too.

That's sodd with the banjo fitting on the slave. My stainless braided line threaded right in to my slave. Did you use some sort of crush washer on either side of the banjo bolt?
And the infamous b series pan leak, mostly every integra that's in at the dealer has a leaking pan. Just be careful not to overtorque which super common, torque spec is like 7 ft lbs. if the gasket squishes out that's bad.
