^ the gaskets suck, I'm an Acura tech and they always are leaking. There is a leakless gasketin existance, it is like $40. Instead of being straight rubber its like metal underneath with the rubber around it, and they are spposed to be the best ones out there. Even then stock gaskets are expensivein my opinion.Caking them with Hondabond usually works, but if the pan has to come off again have fun lol. I use 3m roloc discs to clean both surfaces, although it is sunned upon on the pan since it'll take away paint which ultimately would promote rusting. Bestof look with it sealing lol.

I have seen the metal with rubber gaskets Scott. I simply contacted Honda and ordered an OEM one they had in stock since that is something I don't want to mess with. I would be pissed if the gasket didn't fit after all of that haha. If this does leak for some reason, I will find a metal/rubber one and just go with that. I used a dremel to burn off the old gasket since it was stuck on there. Same way I did the H22 Oil pan gakset 1.5 years ago. Not a drop of oil on the pan whatsoever still

Lastly, I believe the starting issue has been found. I have a thread on Honda-tech where a more experienced member is helping me trace all the wires and trying to figure out why the car isn't starting. If this lastest assumption is right, all I need to do is jump a connectiuon and it is all good for now. It would be chalked up as another **** up by the previous owner(s) being lazy as ****. More info tonight when I get a chance to mess with it more.

Ok, did this wiring switch on the car as suggested by someone on HT. This is what I had to do to jump the connection.

See the tin foil crap? That was used to jump it before and I guess it failed. I was like "really??? you (previous owner) couldn't cut and join the two wires together?!!"

Car started up perfectly so I let is run for about 2 minutes forgetting that fact that there is almost no coolant in it. Shut it off, then tried to start again and then.... nothing. MOTHERFAWKER I AM PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW. This car is becoming a nightmare. I now hear an extra click when I try to start the car, so I think the relays are good and I needed to jump this wiring. Maybe it is my harness now?

Here is what I believe happened with the car no start issue.

1. The car was "jumped" using the tin foil prior to my ownership. I "messed" it up by moving the plastic piece around since I didn't know what is was when I first saw it. This allow the "jumped" connection to separate and began my no start issue.

2. I cleaned the ignition switch when troubleshooting the no start issue and most likely damaged something in it. One out of the 5 white tabs on the ignition switch broke as I tried to unclip it. I figured it was fine since it was only one clip.

3. Wires in the gear selector were jumped and now I am left with having inconsistent starting problems. If I push the key in hard and down to the floor slightly, it starts 75% of the time.

Pretty much, I created all of this, however the gear selector "jump" was horribly rigged, causing me to start cleaning and playing with more stuff. Fix one thing, break another.

With that said I went ahead and ordered a replacement ignition switch. Hopefully that fixes it all for sure.

Replaced the "upper" piece on the VSS and the harness now "clicks" into place. Haven't been able to test it since my clutch line is still not fixed.

Work done from Thursday:

All ready to go! UPS driver showed up 30 minutes after I left to go home and delivered my lower radiator bushings, and OEM thermostat. Damn car didn't have lower bushings for the radiator! WTF

Intake manifold was pulled as well since all coolant must be drained at the same time. Made sense to do all that stuff at the same time.

The "gasket" which was slapped all over the manifold and head. Luckily, it pulled off very easily.

Does anyone know what the red circled port is for? There is no opening on the IM for this, and I found a piece of foam or something crammed in there. This might be the reason why I had a vacuum leak, too.

More pics to come by the end of the weekend.

The extra hole should be for the water jacket, both holes are. The intake manifold you have doesn't perfectly match to the head you have. That's not the end of the world. I'm having trouble identifying the manifold, but I think it's a stock Integra LS B18 manifold. Either way, grab the numbers off of the head and intake manifold.

I've seen a gasket that blocks off the extra port on the head. I've also heard of people just plugging the port too.

Sweet! I didnt notice any water in there at all though. The only thing I know about the motor at this second is that it is a B20z. I will have to get the other info off the head and manifold for you tomorrow.

You have an ls intake manifold, whether its b18b or a idk but its definitely not a b20 intake. Being from an SUV the intake manifold is literally twice as tall, it's huge. Your hood wouldnt clear.

Yea, I know about the B20 manifold being freakishly tall. Didnt get a chance to check the code on the IM to confirm anything.

The head is stamped with a 96, then a P75-2. I originally said it was a b20z, I was wrong. it is a B20b

We will see how well it does once I get the IM back on and coolant in the system again. IM and thermal gasket should be going on today.
