Hobo's 2000 LX daily driver
I need to go buy a 19mm socket. My set only goes up to 14mm. And yes, the wheel is plug and play as long as it's 2000-2005. If 2006+, it has a 2 stage airbag instead of a 1 stage airbag, so the airbag doesn't really work right. Also cruise control requires modification.
HA! The solution to wiring in my case is simple: I will keep the EK cable reel and use the EK cruise control sub harness from within the EK steering wheel. All I have to do is swap out the circuit boards in the cruise control button boxes. That's what I've read, anyways. I will lose the functionality of the "cancel" button, but who needs that? I'll just tap the brakes.
Now I just have to go buy a 19mm socket!

*#@@$%^$^$*%$%&!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That guy on HT was mistaken. Or dead wrong. The damn boards wont swap. Not the same shape. So I have to swap over to the S2000 cable reel and I still have to re-pin one of the connectors.
[edit]
Might have been mistaken... I have used manuals to diagram out the circuits. After a double check and triple check, referencing the EK and AP2 cable reels in front of me as well as the cruise control circuit boards, it would seem that as long as I use the S2000 cable reel (direct swap), there is no modification needed. None. Direct swap. Plug and Play. Boom Headshot!
Time to put everything back together.

It's back together. And now, for your viewing pleasure... some pictures.

And installed.

And now the question has an answer.
Yes. The cruise control works flawlessly. The cancel button works too. Apparently, with EK cruise control, if you press both buttons at the same time, it issues the "cancel" command. The S2000 just adds a button to do that for you.
I installed the wheel about 3 splines off to the right so I have to pull it and straighten it tomorrow. No biggie. Once you've done it... its easy to do again.

I'm stumped as to what modification is next.
I've done the exterior except for a final repaint. I've got rims and tires. Got a spoiler, grille, fog lights, lips.
I've done the interior, but I'm gonna wait to finish the top half. Black/light brown looks fine for now. Black and grey match everything so you hardly notice anyways. (I need to pull the dash and redo the black because part of it peeled, but that's low on my list until I get a vacation.)
I've got two backup sets of rims and tires (the 17s and some 14'' steelies with okay tires).
I've still got spare headlights, spare ebrake, spare steering wheel, spare seats, spare seatbelts, spare intake, spare grilles, and a few other random spare parts. (I gave away my spare trailing arms thank god.)
My best idea is headlights and sidemarkers. Im just not quite happy with the black housing OEM style ones. (They're not OEM anyways, they're TYC. I have a spare set of OEM ones but they don't fit properly because the car was viciously totalled from the front and the core support will never line up right again.) Sigh. But I dont wanna cut up my fenders for some side markers.
I think I need a new project car.
