Project Celeste is definitely on hold for now. I just checked out the bank... and yeah... I've spent more money than I wanted to afford by like... 3x. Between the $250 steering wheel, $175 seats, $ for interior/exterior paint and supplies, $250ish for tires, $whatever I paid for the Si rims, $$$ for random Integra part$ and beer$, $eatbelts, plus the alignment, rear disc brake parts + install, having to bleed the brakes like 5 times... If I totalled of all the parts and labor from this year alone... I might cry. I could have bought the engine by now and had it built. All this isn't including rent, phone, insurance, gas, food, electricity, and internet.

Life is expensive. Hobbies make life both worth living and harder to live. Man can't survive forever on ramen noodles and saltine crackers while working 40 hours a week on the midnight shift. Months of poor diet, bad hours, and almost daily plasma donations have made me too weak to continue working on my car like this. I no longer possess the clarity of thought to carry on with the project. There must be something wrong with your life if you start selling bodily fluids for money to fund your car obsession!

(incidentally, I may have been exaggerating about donating plasma and living like a well fed hobo...)

The good news is that I'm 80% sure that I have a vacation coming up September 24-28th. Which translates to 9 days off of work when you factor in two weekends. First vacation since November of last year. Actually... Since June of last year, but June-October was part time. 30 hours a week max. Still, a long time to work with no rest.

How about some suspension work? Or save up for the re-paint? Your going to have to get to the expensive stuff sometime...

hell ya
good thing your not in my area... id beat you there
and i got my truck now and full of tools in the bed, so i can really load it up with everything i might make some money out of.LOL
tho now i dont have a civic anymore but i can still try and make some quick money!
tho picapart doesnt have very good deals for the center audio console. i swear everyone doesnt know how to remove the 96-98 consoles so they are all busted in pieces.
hell last one from pullapart i made like 50-70bucks profit on it from a 97civic because it was so clean.

ARGH trying to save money is harder than trying to quit smoking. I've got this itch to buy car parts... and I'm starting to weaken.

I'm kinda out of stuff to do to the car though. What's next? Remember, suspension is not really practical due to the bad roads and huge amount of hills here. If this were somewhere flat like Nebraska, I would roll with the car an inch off the ground. Can't do things like that here.

At least do like a .75" drop, man. You can get some H&R OE Sport springs. Supposedly due to the tiny drop, you can run stock shocks and they will last the same.

Lol Trust, that is like the 3rd time I have seen you request those same springs.

Itinerant, I think the car is clean as hell inside and out. I say save up, get the whole thing re-sprayed, lower it like and inch.
