if that doesnt help pull off the distributor cap for a few hours just incase some water got in there. i got some water in my distributor cap before and it ran really bogged down unless higher rpms. i just took the cap off overnight and put it back on and no problems after that.

I drove it a bit today and didn't seem to have any problems. But I didn't get out on the interstate so the fastest I got was 40. I went ahead and took the filter off for cleaning since I haven't washed it since I bought it. Seems like a good time to recharge the filter with oil anyways.

My lip is still broken and that makes me sad. I don't think glue will hold it since it's polyurethane. Epoxy won't stick to slick plastics. And the paint is ruined. I'll have to think about how to proceed on that one.

I can't decide if it's Mugen time or if I should save my money... since I don't really have any money.

o you can glue that sucker.... you got any ruff files, grinder, dremel wire brush or anything to ruff up the back of the lip? just rough it up and then epoxy it from the backside. youll still have the crack but you can still rock it.

My engine is NOT okay.

The whole car started shaking and my CEL (which I just repaired yesterday... [the shady former owner removed it so I stole the seatbelt light]) started flashing. I don't know what that means but Im about to go pull the stored CEL code using the jumper method.

[edit] No CEL was stored. What does a flashing CEL mean?

I just did a search and flashing CEL indicates a misfire. This is consistent with that everyone with this symptom in the search results also had shaking. Pulling the code should indicate what cylinder the misfire is in.

Probably bad spark plug wires or spark plugs. I would just go ahead and replace both. Also inspect cap/rotor for wear and I would also check the ignition timing... though these are probably not likely the problem unless more than one cylinder is misfiring.

Well, like i said in the ninja edit, there was no stored CEL. It wont tell me which cylinder misfired. The plug wires look fine and I just replaced them about 5 months ago. Same with plugs. I haven't pulled them to inspect yet though. The dizzy is also about 8 months old. It looked fine when I checked.

Just to make sure, use a multimeter to measure the resistance in the spark plug wires. It should be less than 25 kΩ

I'm taking it to Daniel's shop tomorrow to do some hardcore diagnostics.

Here are some carnage pics of the damage to the lip and the paint.

Yeah, a little painful. I'll figure some sort of fix out for the plastic damage. I might have enough paint left to retouch the lip. Might have to wait until warmer weather. And since the corner of the forum is peeking out from that last pic...

That's how HCF was meant to be seen! 46" 1080p. Also, while I was getting pics from the camera, I found a pic I forgot to share: The whole family home for Christmas!

o ok..... ya thats spray paint for ya.
if you would have used plastic promoter spray it might have stayed on better than that..
but dont worry to much about that corner... to fix it just use a simple piece of metal and screw it down where the lip is still good, and bolt the original bolt hole also up to the new bracket and bolt it to ur bumper or where ever its all good still.
no need for a new lip unless you want one!
but i would pressure wash the lip to remove all the old paint and then use a plastic promoter and then primer/paint it. should stick a hell of alot better!
when i painted my bumper the primer freaken came off with a garden hose spray after a few months and the cash wash pressure made it even worse.LOL
funny video i took striping my plastic bumper with a hose.lol

i dam near stripped the whole bumper with just the hose.LOL

Haha, I DID use plastic promoter. It was a clear spray. And the metal bracket thing is the exact idea I had. I was looking for just that piece of scrap earlier. The lip just got bent so much that the paint cracked, then the water kinda washed it away.
