Eh drilling it out and retapping it won't be a problem, worst comes to worst I either timesert or helicoil it, there's plenty of bolts to compensate for it holding the two together. And my impact would've pulled it if I was at work, my 21 gallon compressor doesn't put out psi close to like at work. At work we are running 150+, which really brings out the real strength of air tools.

I'm kind of thinking about not working on the D and finding like an ls swap. I feel like I might be wasting my time with the sohc, and an ls is cheap.

I'd go with a B16 or if you could afford it a k20.

I wouldn't get a B16, not a fan. And I've got 4k and counting to pay off to Snap On/Matco so I am not going to drop a ton of money on a swap. An ls would be cheap and in like spring I'd just go lsv, one of my favorite setups. And I'd love to drop a k24 in, but money is an issue. Once I'm done with school and making some good money I want to make a monster hp build, but for now I just want something that willl make decent power, enough to satisfy me for now.

I don't think I've ever said anything about it but a tech at work is building a twin turbo lsv da, it is awesome. He's done a brake tuck and tucked the harness, not an insane fully tucked engine harness that is all cut up, but rerouted everything less visible. The lsv is fully built and he is using a Supra twin turbo setup, he's looking to make 350-400 hp when it is done. It is sick.

So what is this project called now since it's not an h22 swap?

Don't get me wrong, b16s have their advantages and are good motors, but to me they are disappointing. I've been in ek's with b16s and I drove an si, and up until vtec they are a disapointment, and even then it isn't insane. Most people are turned away from lsv because people think it is unreliable, which is because people don't spend the money and do it right. If done right, an lsv is as reliable as anything. he big problem is people rev the motor to what the head can handle, not the bottom end. My friends got a b20v with an itr head on it, that head can take 9k revs all day, but with the b18/b20 bottom you can't go past 8k without a big risk, there's a reason they hit rev limiter at like 7200 in Tegs. Gsr's are built to rev like crazy so they've got the advantaged, but the rod stroke of the ls is awesome. I should try and find a b20...

And I have no idea what to call this thread anymore. I'm terrible at picking one plan and sticking to it.

Lol I've been thinking about it, and I do like having an arm rest but the delete looks really good, and not a lot of people have it., and makes room for seats. Only concern I have is that it'll look odd being the only black part of the interior...

i'll trade you for the one in my hatch if they are able to be swapped...?

I don't have an armrest, but wouldn't mind having one.
