Scott's Ek Build: Shaved and Tucked
For now all they have to do is hold the wheel on. My car won't be driving again until end of march and I'm going to buy some real open ends. I just didnt feel like ordering some now, or picking a color now.
Wow had my update typed up and my internet crashed and lost it so I now I have to retype and upload pics.
Well, I welded some more today. It is getting annoying already, weld, grind it down, weld, grind it down. Have to fill in any holes or gaps after I grind it down, which they never seem to go away. And can't sit in the same spot too long because it'll melt through, I already did it once, but welded a piece over it and you can't even tell.
I've only started one fire so far! It was a pig mat that started on fire, they are super abosrbant material that we use for cleaning up oil and stuff so I grabbed a stack, and either they are kinda flammable or that one had something soaked in it but I could smell something burning and looked down to see it slowly burning, they must be firesafe somewhat because it didn't all start on fire, just a secluded spot. Holy run-on sentence, that was one sentence LOL!
Here's come pics.

Driver side of it. The big messy weld is because it is an recessed hole about 1/2" wide, so I had to weld a piece under it and was in the process of building welds up on it to fill up the hole. Can't even tell there were holes for the ac there anymore though!

Passenger side, same deal, need to finish up and clean up this side a little more.

It's so smooth...

Thanks guys.
I wanted to really get a lot of work done in the bay today since it is my only off day, butttt it has been snowing for the last 2 days and last night was a legit blizzard. So in 2 days we got probably 20" of snow and because of the blizzard the drifts are huge, there's one that is all the way up to the bottom of our roof (single story). It is pretty ridiculous, everything is closed, even Acura closed, they wanted us to all come in and shovel then realized nobody would be able to get there.
But last night I finaly finished up labeling my wiring harness since I was bored. Pulled up some wiring diagrams off of Honda's online tech site that I get from work/school and matched up the last few plugs that were left by looking at the wire colors. So now that they are all labeled I can take all the wrap off and start seperating everything and rewrap it hiding the wires, but I want to wait on that til I get an ls so I can match it up to that motor.

Deloomed the harness, took foreverrrr, well at least an hour. Honda uses an insane amount of electrical tape. I am ordering some black flexible expandable tubing to redo the harness with, will look 100x better. I don't think I will have to cut up my harness at all, since it is all deloomed I can get mroe slack or take away some excess slack from the wires to pull them tighter against the motor and out of site. And the factory hook ups are on either side of the bay, and I will run mine in the center of the bay under the heater core. So that is theoritically less distance for some of the harness to travel. Not 100% on where the ecu will go, might have it just sit on like the passenger side up in the foot well, that way I can disconnect it and take it with me everywhere I go.
I also think I might have a solution for maintaining the black evap box. Since I have emissions every other year I can't throw codes. I'm going to look to make sure I am right, but I am pretty sure it is all soft lines going to the box and just one harness connector. So I am thinking I could put the black box in my bumper, where my coolant resivour was. Extend the soft lines and run them under the side rails as well as the connector. That way I would maintain the the box, have a complete evap system, and satisfy the ecu. Going to look in to that one of these days.
Here is my garbage, full of eletrical tape and old plastic wire cover.

The harness now.

So many wires in obd2...

Hmm, how about:
Scott's Ek Build: Shaved and Tucked
I ordered my sleeving for my wire harness. I bought 25 ft of 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" expandable sleeving. Cost me a total of like $25 for 25 feet of each size, really cheap. It'll look really professional, like what Chasebays harness' are sheathed in. The ones I bought are fire retardent so I'll have some flame protection on my harness... they are black with a white tracer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-4-E...ssoriesQ5fGear Really good seller if anyone is interested in buying them. I ordered the normal sleeves for 1/2 and 3/8 and when I was going to order the 1/4 I saw that the flame retardent was the same price. So I messaged him seeing if he could ship me flame retardent ones since I just saw them and he called me today to tell me that they will sell me the flame retardent.

Okay I've decided I'm taking too much damn time on this and being lazy. So my plan for this week is to have 90% of the engine bay holes welded up, I want to have everything but the firewall done. I'm slacking too much and my deadline of when my car has to be out of the garage is approaching fast.
I started looking in to my battery relocation, and damn it is more expensive than I though. Since I will run my battery I have now I'll need a sealed battery box. Then I'll need the wire for it... then the circuit breaker... then the bulkhead for going through the firewall... then cable lugs... adds up pretty quick!
I was actually just looking in to some stuff, here's what I'm thinking.
Summit relocation kit:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Summi...Q5fAccessories
Seal the box myself and vent it, pretty much just use some rubber or something to pinch between the lid and box.
100 amp circuit breaker:
http://cgi.ebay.com/12-Volt-Car-Audi...item5adebdf228
I'd need a power distribution block too... this **** gets expensive quick...
I got all my flame retardent wire sheath yesterday for my harness, pretty cool stuff too.
And oh yea...
PACKERS WON THE SUPER BOWL!!!
Just thought I'd put it out there.
