Default custom intake question...

how hard is it to custom design an intake, mainly to save costs from buying one. is it really hard? does anybody know any links/forum posts that explain in detail how to custom build one? thank you very much for any replies.

Build a custom intake how? with rubber hose or something like that from autozone? if you're looking to save money then buy one of those ebay ones and buy a different filter for it if you just have to have one now.

By the time you buy the parts, and after labor and everything, you're looking at the cost of a cheap aftermarket cat-back anyway...

muffler (a decent one): $50-75
resonator: $50-100
custom bent tubing at a muffler shop: $150+

So you're looking at $250 at the absolute least, and that's if you're lucky and find a cheap shop to bend the tubing... and even then, it'll most likely be crush-bent, which restricts flow... aftermarket exhausts are mandrel bent, which flow the best.
