Were there any rock chips in the clear coat prior to putting the bra on? If moisture got in, it might have been forced under the clear coat because it had nowhere to go when it evaporated.

 

It could be a case of moisture getting stuck in there and the sun drying it. Rain could have some harmful chemical in them

 

good example why to never use a bra on a car. It will continually rub the paint as you drive and little bits of dirt get in there with water and cause this. I have seen this at the shop before. Just try to buff it out if its not too deep. I laugh when i see people with bras on their car just for this exact reason

 

so it must have been two things
1. sun baked it, since i live in southern md, its hot out here
2. water got under there, and it did thunderstom a couple times this week.
tried wax and it was a fail, im gonna go to the auto zone later to see if i can find anything. i just am shocked, my paint is perfect except for this now. =(

@justinwebb what is that on your car is it a bra on like a plastic cover

 

Its a carbon fiber hood.

 

yea my hood is a OEM style VIS carbon fiber hood i have never had a bra or anything like that. I can see how it looks like that in the pic though
