Default Car works hard to take off from stop.

I'm just about ready to sell this car if I can't figure out why it isn't getting good gas mileage. What I do notice is that when I am at a stop sign and I press on the gas, it doesn't take off fast. The car engine seems to be working harder to get it going. I feel like there is a trailer behind it. But once it gets going, it goes really fast and smooth. No engine noise. I've tried everything. Just got a new cat and fixed leak in exhaust manifold and 02 sensors are good. Replaced spark plugs and wires. Tires are properly inflated. New fuel filter and stock air box. Checked vacuum lines. Had fuel injection cleaning done. It did have a blown head gasket when I first got it but that was fixed. Valve adjustment done. New timing belt. Any suggestions would be appreciated. PS: it's an automatic and it's an 98 honda civic ex.

Do you have a stuck brake caliber? Is the E-Brake on or stuck?

sounds like you need to adjust the timing. you have to jump the service connector behind the glove box and use a timing light to set timing. the timing belt itself could also be 1 tooth off. but start with adjusting the distributor with the timing light and jumping the service connector.

Remove spark plug wires Ina at a time and see if they all make it idle down. If one of them doesn't it could mean you have a fuel injector that's bad for that cylinder
