Is your ECU setting any codes? Are you sure all sensors got plugged back in correctly and are functional?
Also, be very careful about using starting fluid. I know of one guy who used a little and couldn't start up, so he sprayed a little more in, same result, sprayed more in and tried again and BOOM! Big internal explosion, bent rods and all kinds of other damage. I recommed staying away from it.

When you say that you checked the fuel, what exactly did you do? The symptoms fit with a failure of the fuel system to deliver fuel to the cylinders.

You may want to check the fuel pressure and whether the fuel injectors are working.

You should check whether your engine ground wires are tightly connected and not corroded.

With respect to the fuel system problem, the next step is to test your main relay and fuel pump and also possibly replace the fuel filter (see pictures).

No wires should be sparking. Also check the little ground wires on the thermostat housing. Very easy to forget those.

why is the diagram's # outlet different from the # listed on the relay...but I dont' understand why it would be the problem because the car was running when I put that out.....

why is the diagram's # outlet different from the # listed on the relay...
The lower circuit diagram simply provides details about how the relay works. When testing the relay, rely on the terminal number designations shown in the relay picture above.
