New CV axle

RE: New CV axle
I think all you'd have to do is unclamp the boot, pull the inner joint apart and then remove the snap ring on the end of the axle that holds the cross part of the joint on. Then take off the cross part and the boot and it's ready to slip the damper on to the axle. So the only special tool is a snap ring plier and maybe a tool to attach the new boot clamps depending on what kind they are.
Really though it's barely worth spending time working on an axle even for a simple boot change, when you can trade it in so cheap.

RE: New CV axle
I managed to find a new one at NAPA Auto. Only place that had them new OR remanufactured. I had a bit of trouble finding a new tranny oil seal, other than that, yay. I shoul get it on later today or tomorrow hopefully.
