Hello everyone. Im new in this forum and i was hoping for anyone to help me with my question. Im about to change my old dizzy from my 98 civic ex auto with a good used working condition. Besides unpluging the connections and removing the three bolts, is there any allignment require or just remove the old one out and install the new one in? Please help! Thanks.

The spark timing will need to be set with a timing light. Put the new distributor in the center of its adjustment range, the car should at least start. Warm up the engine then put the test jumper in the ECU plug and hook up your timing light and adjust spark timing.

Be sure to put the spark wires onto the right posts on the cap. If you don't have the service manual, take a picture or make a drawing (assuming you know they are properly connected now). You can also take the cap off with wires still attached and move it aside, then put it on the new distributor.

Where can I get this test jumper and the timing light? Also, how do I adjust the spark timing?

Make sure to line up the middle timing mark between the sights on the timing cover.

One of them is shaped like this: /\/\

The other below it is like this: /\

Line it up like aiming down the barrel of a gun, and make sure the center mark on the crank pulley lines up with those marks.
