thx for all the patience everyone. i had to work til yesterday. finally got to work on the civ again this morning. do u think a stock guide plate will work with an aftermarket pully? also, why cant i use the impact wrench to torque the pully back on? my pully isnt recessed so theres no way to hold it with a pully wrench...

At the crank, temporarily put it together without the belt or the plastic cover on. You should then be able to see that all the parts fit together OK. The guide washer(s) needs to be solidly up against the edge of the crank gear.

If you never took the belt off then you have no reason to worry. The only thing I could imagine anyone worrying about it having the timing off a little bit, but you shouldn't have needed to remove the belt so you should be fine.
