Unusual oil consumption? Honda 95 Civic DX

once it is fixed it will be all the more worth it.... trust me.

Generally if you see smoke on startup, its valve seals gone bad and leaking into the combustion chamber during the down time of the motor (when its off). If you're seeing smoke during hard acceleration you've got ring problems I can almost garauntee you. THe motor has to come apart. THere's no kind of snake oil or synthetic you can dump in it, the motor is shot.
Hondas are great cars, but even these motors are made out of cast iron and aluminum. Some idiot who had that car before you either didn't change the oil or let it run low on oil for a while (or both) and now the rings are toast. Look on ebay for a different motor.

Andre don't feel lonely out there, I recently was given a 90 Civic with about 203K miles, and It's doing the same thing. I drove it for a month and during that time I was using what seemed to be a quart every 100 miles or so. It's kinda like what Killer stated, mine doesn't smoke at start or idle, just under hard accel. LOL, when I say smoke, I mean smoke! I got accused of having a second job as a mosquito killer! [&o] I did a compression test (dry) and got the following results Cylinder 1,2, and 3 about 180, and number four at 120.
I searched around, and tried to test other theories... Hell at one point I had almost convinced myself that it was just a simple head gasket that needed replacing, but I think now I'm come to grips with the fact that I just need to tear it down and do a rebuild.
Regardless, once done, It will last a long time I'm sure. Anywho, my two cents goodluck!

I also have a 95 DX that was somebodies step child. I have 200k and get 34 -37 mpg now. I was buying oil like there was no tomorrow. I changed all the same stuff you said too. I did find one other thing that nearly completely cured the oil consumpsion. When I was changing the PCV valve I accidentally broke the S-shaped rubber hose that connects it to the intake. That was a blessing. The hose was clogged shut. After replacing the hose my rough idle smoothed out and I quit fogging for mosquitos.

i'd take it somewhere with a lift so you can look underneath it. cars can leak lots of oil & you may never see it on the ground. and most repair shops can do compression tests. it just seems odd that your problems started after taking it in for a lof & flush.
