windshield defroster fan not working

windshield defroster fan not working
In my 89 honda civic dx the fans all work except for the defroster ones for the front windshield even when i put it on defrost setting.. no air comes out of them, it just comes out of the fans pointing at the driver and passenger.
The air isn't being directed to the defroster fans, which is a huge problem now that its coming to winter time, my windshield just keeps fogging up.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? If so please help
