Default need some advice

Hey guys I'm kinda new to any suspension talk. I have a 00' civic that's lowered. It sometimes rubs in the rear when cornering. I bought it that way 2.5 years ago with the intention to do some mods to it and well things happen so now I have to sell the car. The problem now is the ride. I've noticed it has diminished quite a bit in the last 6-8 months. Bumps in the road are more noticable and it seems to jar the car instead of bounce to much. I'm not sure where to start first because I want to do it right. The local alignment shop told me I need new control arms in the front and that I couldn't just replace the bushings. Is this true? You can jiggle the front wheels considerable when they're hanging freely (jacked up)Also I'm pretty sure the struts are shot but I'm not sure how to tell if the springs are any good. I'd like to just do the struts and control arms and get rid of the car but I don't want to have to do more work taking it apart more than once. Are there "generic" OEM replacement struts available or should I just go with a decent aftermarket brand?

do you have any rims on it? it sounds like your struts are shot. a buddy had a problem like this too and found out that they were shot too plus the car came with a no brand suspension setup. but if ur seling the car try and find some oem suspension for the ride

Yeah I have 17's on the car. I'm thinking about some OEM struts with Tein springs to keep it lowered because it looks a lot better and that's what everyone compliments but as of right now the ride sucks. BTW it needs new CV joints also and I'm just thinking I should do it all at once and I could get that much more out of the car. It's just going to be hard to sell if it needs that much work. The good thing is I know I can do all the labor with a friend and the right tools.
