Paint the whole car with plastidip! It's really cheap and durable.

I'll just leave this here...

Dammit Scott. I watch that whole 12 min video on it and I am ready to buy now! It is amazing to see him literally pull the plastic paint off the windows.

I will play with the black spray can I just bought. If it works, what are you thinking for color, black, gray, or white? Of course, I could always change it

I think the gunmetal grey would look sweet. I saw the video a while back and actually considered doing it. I only had a few concerns... If it'll chip bad on the front from freeway driving, getting a gOod application doing it in my driveway, and not letting people know what it is. If people know I guarentee I'd have a ***** drawn in it with their nail when it's be in a parking lot. It's super cool nonetheless though.

I am going to probably go with matte white only because it is best for hiding dents and DIY first-timer body work. I might add some bondo or something to that back driver area to have it appear to be clean, then spray over with the plastic dip.

Matte white car, matte black wheels, red calipers and valve cover along with sticker bombed div plate. Sounds sick I think. I plan on sticker bombing the a/c block off piece I made a few weekends ago. Looking through the gril, you will see some crazy sticker bombed thing, rather than some shiny-ish metal thing.

EDIT - I just need to figure out if I want to spend the $350 on the car kit, or just cheap out and buy like 20 cans of white for like $150.

Played with the car a little bit today. Ended up rotating the tires and fixing the passenger speaker issue. I had everything off the front end and door and I was about to start hard wiring things until I thought to re-check everything behind the head unit. Here was the problem.

A pin in the harness from the OEM plug to the back of the head unit had a broken pin. Fixed for now!

Hoping to get some more work done tomorrow before picking up the little one.

Washed the car last night and finished up with the wheels. The plasti dip worked pretty well. I didn't spray it on thick enough in order to peel it off the tires perfectly, but I was able to get some peel-action going on. Not much of a difference (before and after), but when on the car you can tell. All the little scratches and nicks are now gone.

Still debating on just buying a bunch of cans of white paint, or buying a cheap spray gun (electrical) and buying 2 gallons of white plasti dip. Someone help!

that plasti-dip looks pretty legit. If the price difference is not too crazy i would probably go with that over spray paint. The way plastic merges with itself (lol) it looks good like powder coat, while it is harder to make spray cans not look like spray cans. Every car I have seen that was spray painted looks like it was spray painted. It is not necessarily bad, it is kind of its own style now but i think the plasti-dip looks way cleaner and would go that route. Never been a fan of black rims but those look pretty nice, I want to polish mine and it seems like its gonna be a lot of work -_-

Thanks man. I think I am just going to go with plasti dip spray paint rather than buying a gun and all that nonsense as well as sourcing an air compressor. The electrical spray guns at HF are getting horrible reviews.

I don't want to buy everything needed for an air gun set-up since the price will start to get too high.

I don't want to buy the electrical spray gun at HF (only one pretty much under $70) since it is getting horrible reviews.

I have been using spray cans for years and I think I am finally getting it down correctly. Plus, this is the cheapest method. Might be more time consuming, but I would rather spend the time being busy painting rather than finding and buying all the other things I would need.

I will be buying the cans by the end of this week unless someone can come up with a strong argument against it.

I think that's a good idea, I was confused I thought it was plasti-dip or something like krylon spray cans haha.

I think you will be okay with any form of plasti-dip, spray guns are just fancy spray cans anyway ;P
