Build a crate for the h22 and ship it, and throw the rear discs in there too.

Dang.
Seems like you already made up your mind.
Gen's are definitely nice cars.
Just don't rush it and regret it later.
Good luck with whatever you decide to go with!

If your only getting 600 for the body, you could always keep it in your garage for a while right? Maybe in a year or so after the frustration wears off you will get the modding itch again and can make a clean start.

Im sure it would be more fun and less burdensome to work on a car when you already have a DD and arnt under pressure to get it running.

If you do decide to start parting out, I'm still interested in your exhaust, just PM me. Also might be interested in your cat depending on how new it is.

Well, went to test drive a Genesis coupe last week, but they only had ATs. Oh well, I drove it. Handled nicely, brakes were nice, too. However, the power it had and feel (of a sports car) was just not what I wanted at this time. I was not too crazy for the gas mileage (20/30) either. Also, while test driving, a red 99-00 Coupe drove by, lowered, wheels, lip kit, and I got sad. haha

On to the reason I am posting this. I talked to a buddy of mine and he knows someone with a shop who agreed to finish the wiring work, make it all look nice, and load up a base h22 tune for $500. Not too bad IMO. If the hatch sells before going for wiring work, I may as well tell the shop to just "finish" the swap for me. I plan on getting the coupe towed to the shop (about a hour away) within the next 2 weeks, or once I get that alternator bracket in.

I actually worked on the coupe a few days ago, so that helped me get back into the swing of things. I finished swapping the rails for the new del sol seats (red stripe - MUCH cleaner and in better condition than the grey stripes) on the driver side and I installed (but not wired) the JDM EK9 steering column cover with the map light and ignition light. Looks great IMO. I'll see if I can get a pic sometime soon.

That sounds like a much more rewarding alternative. Plus, i bet the insurance on the Hyundai would be beastly compared to a civic.

I like that choice a lot better than just getting rid of the civic altogether, I feel like you would regret it later.

I thought that would be the case, but the Genesis would only be about $100 more per month with full coverage, too. The kicker would be the $300 car payment each month. I would be putting $500 into the car payments/insurance each month, and that doesn't include gas/maintenance.

Also, the same buddy who helped me get in contact with the wiring people made me realize that I wouldn't be done paying the car off until I am 30. Not bad, but I would be depending on others for a place to stay until then, no thanks. Let me fix this car, take the extra money and put it into an account and start saving for a down payment on a house. By the time I am 30 I'll have a nice chunk of change for that instead of having a paid off car and no money for anything.

Finally picked up the last thing for the interior.

Installed, but I haven't connected the battery to check to make sure it is wired in correctly. I wont be home for the remainder of the week, so I will try and get some updated pics for you guys on Sunday.
