Cvcrcr's project/fix-up thread (version 1.1)
I am still around guys and the project is still kickin. haha Just got done moving and settled in now, so I will start to look for more time to work on the Civic.
The machine shop which I have been planning on getting all of my work done at closed down. Apparently, after 60 years, the guy no longer wants to do it anymore. Can't blame him. So far, I found a reputable machine shop that is local which is quoting me half the price... so hopefully I can get everything done there.
Other than that, nothing new. Flushed out the clutch and brake fluid this past weekend, as well as an oil change and trying to track down this leak in the trunk.
Recently, my oil temps were reaching 195°. not sure if that is because it is getting warmer out or not. It used to sit at 180°. If it gets any higher, I might as well throw the oil cooler kit I have sitting in the garage on the car
I'll post up some more info when I can!

Installed a thermostatic oil cooler on the car on Saturday. Unfortunately, it only has one NPT port, so I am currently not running my Oil PSI gauge.
Fired up the car, no leaks. SWEET! I had done testing on this for work previously and we couldn't get it to stop leaking. Well, the R&D team looks like they fixed that.
I brought up a CEL for my IAT sensor. No problem, I have a replacement OBD1 IAT plug which I ordered a while back and never used. I must have tweaked the wires while playing around down there. In attempts to have it get turned off, and to reset the ECU, I unhooked the battery for 20-30 minutes.
After resetting the ECU, my temp gauge shoots to 275° F as soon as I give the gauge power. Obviously, my oil temp is not that high seeing as the gauge jumps over there before I even turn the car on, so it must be an electrical issue. I have yet to get under there again to look at the wiring. I hate wiring. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should look for?
All my gauges share the same ground and power source, however, the sensors ground themselves through the sandwich plate. The only gauge which is tweaking like this is the temp gauge, so it has nothing to do with the gauge power and grounds. The only thing which has changed from what I can see is that I removed the Oil PSI sensor, but I didnt think that affected anything directly except it would cause me to not know my oil PSI. If anyone has an idea, post up.

Fix the CEL (for now) about the IAT sensor issue. Just as I suspected, a wire broke inside the clip. I have a replacement plug somewhere, I just have to find it.
Currently, I have the wires/pins going directly into there respective terminals on the IAT sensor and no more CELs now.
Next up, ummm jeez.. too many things to list. The weather is getting much nicer recently, so I have been tinkering with the car more and more each night.

Found a 00 Civic EX coupe (silver) with a blown (and removed) motor literally 4 blocks from my house being sold for $900. If the body is perfect, and the car is manual, I will be buying it immediately and swapping the new motor into that car as my car's body needs alot of TLC.
If the donor car is AT, I will pull everything off of it that I can use, and sell the rest/junk the car. This might mean I will have a either a perfect car for the swap, or at least a painted front end on my current car!
Going to look at it tonight!
