The power is great! The car pulls extremely hard, especially up top. The fact that I can do a few simple things (Euro R IM, 3" intake/exhaust, balance shaft delete kit, re-tune) and probably pull out an extra 20-30whp makes me feel confident that I will be happy with this set-up for a long time. Just have to get this axle binding issue dealt with now.

I still miss the S/C Y8. Miss the S/C whine and the torque at 2.5k (where as with the H22, the car revs past 2.5k immediately due to the shorter gears etc.). I also miss saying that the car is boosted/supercharged, as well as being able to say "I am spraying meth" haha. But now I can say "I have a 2.2L Civic" lololol and the sound of the motor at 6.5k-7k in vtec is just undescribeable... I really can't describe it any other way. Pros and cons I guess. I'll see if I can get a video loaded up onto youtube of my trip to work or something. I haven't made a video of the car in a looooooong time actually.

Car was up and running Saturday night and I think I have driven over 150 miles since then . I need to rack up miles for the moment as I am testing the catch can you see in the pics for my work. It is a legit baffled catch can, designed in house, and being tested on my car for functionality. I may have the only silver version as the Market Research team mentioned that it is only going to be sold in black once released. :P

It will make you smile.

I still need to install my mishimoto radiator and do a few other things.
I'm going to look at another car tonight that I might buy to get around with so I can park the 98 and get some stuff done.

The car I'm going to look at is a 89 si hatch,

Here's the goodies list.
b18a1
8.5:1 srp pistons
eagle H beam rods
arp bolts and studs through out.
Coil overs and full exhaust.
He said the body is pretty clean except the drivers side rocker panel is rusted.

I'm thinking project car once I get the work finished on the 98

^^Sounds like that is ready for a big ol' turbo!

Do you "OEM" black rubber radiator hoses? I want to see if Prelude hoses work or not. If so, I am gonna order a set from my work. I would rather not order them and have it not work... and my current hoses are a 90-93 Integra upper hose (cut), and a 93-97 B16a3 Del Sol lower hose. I will not buy two hoses kits from my work, just to cut one and have a complete set... wayyyyyy too expensive for under hood bling.

Anyways, I smile each time I get into the car and it starts without fighting me with a constant CELs for like 5-6 different things in addition to the power it is putting down. Obviously, there was nothing wrong, just the wiring was retarded. If someone is interested, I am selling the harness for $100 plus $15 shipping. I figured the wiring near the ECU plugs to be the problem, so I would suggest buying a new conversion harness and re-pinning those 2 plugs. Should be easy for veteran. I am wiring stupid, and would rather not mess it up.

Yes,
The hoses on my car are the black "oem" hoses from the donor car, lol.

The only cel I'm getting is for the egr still, I still have not gotten my chipped p28 sorted out.

As for the other car, he said he built the motor for a bunch o'boost and never got around to boosting it.

Damn. Oh well, I will eventually get to the bottom of it for the hoses.

Sounds like a fun boost project! Make sure you keep us updated on it. Good to see that you are still around on the forum. Haven't seen you posting in a little bit.

Anyways, got my breather filter. F-ck yea! Didn't throw it on the valve cover yet though.

Starting to look ahead right now on anything else I want to do with the car which I am not 100% on yet. That brings me to the battery relocation set-up. I have a 5 channel amp powering a 10" sub, two rear 6x9s, and a set of 6.5" component speakers up front if that matters at all.

- What is the best battery for relocating to the trunk? Optima? Odyssey? Other brands? Which battery would you suggest for me?

- Do I absolutely need to run 0/1 awg wiring? I have 4 awg wire running through the car already. Can I use that, or would it be taking a risk for fire?

- I know I need a battery, box, wiring, distribution block, and an inline 100amp fuse. Anything else I might be missing?

If anyone can chime in, that would be great.

The stereo in my 88 camaro was ran from a 0-gauge wire from battery (Optima, for what its worth), to the distribution block, and 2/4 gauge to the two amps from there. 2 gauge went to the 2500w monoblock for the two subs, and the 4-gauge went to the 1000w 4-channel that ran the surrounds. Never had any issues set up like this, and it 'passed' at all the dB Drag's I went to with regard to wire gauge being appropriate for the setup.

The Optima (Yellow top I think) battery performed amazingly well, and it outlasted the car. I yanked that sucker and threw in a cheapie when I sold the car.

The 89 will not be a project for me, his idea of an ok body is way different then mine.
Drivers side rocker is gone, rear fenders have rust and nearly every inch of the body is dented. It looked like someone tried to roll the fenders with out a clue how to. The front fenders are ripped and dented badly.

I haven't been on a lot, bought a house in august (still no garage ) and I been working a ton.

Thinking about buying a hatch off a guy at work, the price is right for a beater car and it has potential for being a project.

As for the Ex the M2B4 trans in it has a 5th gear grind and I'd like something with a little longer gears as I drive a LOT. Thinking about the M2L5.
I also want to build a head, a local has a fresh ported and polished bare head for 150.00
I also want to do a new timing belt and probably use the Kaizen speed tensioner and balancer shaft delete.

It should be an interesting summer.

As for battery,
I have the red top optima battery in my Durango.
It's been in there for 10 years now and has never failed me.

I threw in the system information just to let people know I am running a system so that they do not suggest a battery too small for me

I am primarily focused on getting a dry cell battery, or at least a battery which will not vent "fumes" into the vehicle. I read conflicting stories about the Optimas being safe for trunk mounting, but I have been looking at a yellow/red top recently. Probably go with a yellow top if that is ideal for trunk mounting since it is cheaper, and has better ratings than the RSX battery I am currently using.

Are you still getting the project car, or is it not worth your time due to the body damage?

I think I have the same transmission as you as well as a buddy having this transmission in his 97 Prelude years ago. I think we are all having a 5th gear grind issue. Only if I am accelerating it will grind, otherwise, I take it easy going into 5th and it is fine for now. I want a LSD equipped trans, but the good ones cost at least $800 + shipping. No thanks. haha

Good luck with the KS stuff! I want their tensioner and balance shaft delete kit, too! Make sure you take pics and do a quick write up! I plan on doing this summer of 2013 if I still have the car. I don;t see myself selling it anytime soon to be honest

I will not be getting the project car, body is way to trashed.
If it was just hood and fender damage I wouldn't worry about it but it is much worse then that.

If you have the M2B4 trans it is the JDM w/lsd
