Cvcrcr's project/fix-up thread (version 1.1)
You can say that again.
I guess that is what happens on something like this. I probably should have researched a little more before just buying things.
Car has the new Hasport mounts in it and is currently strapped onto the dyno. Let's see if anything else comes up (problem-wise of course).

Alignment is wayyyyy off according to the shop. That was expected. They will do a quick alignment on it just so I can get home. They are currently trying to raise the car up (coilovers) to Hasport's recommended height for the H22 set-up. I figured it was too low. lol
Hopefully going to hear from them by the end of today.

Last post in this thread before I get the car back

All I know is that it is relatively quiet, very smooth all the way up to 8k. 196 whp/165wtq. Sick. Oh... and I am broke as a joke.
Going to pick it up after work tomorrow.

Ok, car is back, but with a bunch of problems. I won't go into listing them all right now. I need to call the shop about all of this and see what they can do.
Overall, overlooking all of the issues, the motor is quiet and torque-y as all hell and I am impressed with it.

Yes, major and minor problems. Some things (minor things) just made it look like they just didn't care. Some major things should not have been overlooked.
OK, you talked me into listing the current problems. I'll try and list them in order from most severe, to least.
1. Timing belt is still trying to walk off cam gears. This is especially true when starting up the car, or driving while the rpms are below 3k. If I get a good start up, and get opn the highway, I am good. The T-belt starts screeching otherwise and the side of the belt already shows wear marks. - Major
2. CEL for what I believe is a VSS sensor. Haven't had time to bring my laptop outside to check it. - Major
3. Speedo and odometer not functioning (probably has to do with VSS issue above) - Major
4. Temperature gauge on cluster not functioning. - Major
5. No reverse lights (reverse solenoid wires are not hooked up) - Major
6. Axle boot is ripped (passenger side) - Minor
7. Driver fender mangled (I have no freaking clue how this happened) - Minor
As for torque, yea, I was thrown off by it as well. I shifted quickly at 6k from 1st to 2nd, and the tires started spinning without trying. I barely felt it in the steering wheel, too (and P/S is removed so I figured I would feel it). Looks like I need a traction bar and some wider, stickier tires.
Still re-learning how to drive in a lowered car, where the seats have you basically on the floor, using the wink mirror, getting used to the new shifter "feel", not having P/S, and feeling every little bump in the road. Remember, this is after driving a stock car for 5+ months daily. Uh oh.... cvcrcr might actually miss driving the 100% bone stock Integra...... :/... yea, that.

Wow that's a ridiculous amount of stuff, all the wiring you didn't want to deal with they effed. That timing belt issue is ridiculous, I'd be worried to even be driving it. Seems really sketchy work they did for them to be okay knowing none of that isn't working. Those are things that you can't just not notice. And I hate driving stock cars. I drive my crv all winter and every day I wish I could be in my car, I love the offing so low and feeling all the humps and actually having acceleration.
Trust me, when VTAK kicks in (...yo), the acceleration is extremely fun.
Here is an update on the issues listed above....
1. Anyways, I called the guy I know at the shop and old him to listen to the noise. He said it was my alternator belt. They had to put more tension on it when it was at the shop since it was making that noise. I re-tensioned it, and the noise is gone. The timing belt is fine thankfully. I just need to get a bolt that will not loosen from vibrations and daily driving.
2/3. Thinking there is a wiring problem, or the sensor is bad.
4. I found the temp sensor on the motor (under the distributor), and saw it was not hooked up. Found the plug on the harness so that should be fixed easily.
5. I need to locate the colors of the wires and extend the wires to where they need to be. Shouldn't be a problem once I locate it.
6. I looked over the axle thoroughly and I couldn't find a hole in the boot. It really looks like a manufacturers error. I will call Hasport tomorrow and see what they say.
7. I am still at a loss as to how this happened. I will try to get a pic tomorrow of it.
So all in all, I am most worried about the VSS sensor issue, the axle (if Hasport says no to a replacement), and the fender issue. Looks like everything is coming along nicely now. That is still no excuse for the shop missing that wiring stuff, I agree with you on that. They didn't see the axle, nor did they touch that one while working on the car they said.
I'll be sure to keep you guys updated!
