Cvcrcr's project/fix-up thread (version 1.1)
Removed the TPS, and I am getting 4.9v no matter what do. When the throttle is closed and open, and no matter where I have the TPS angled the voltage never changes. Am I doing it wrong? I am at a loss here.
Are you checking voltage at the Signal wire?
should be a 3 wire plug, right?
1 should be 5v (or close to it)
1 Ground
and the other one should be the signal wire.
And fully close the output should be somewhere below .5v if i remember correctly...
I should of paid attention last class..

how far away is the shop you took it to? it may be a pain in the ***, but the reason you payed so much to bring it there was so you wouldnt have to do the annoying wiring, and you are still running into problems with it. it should be their responsibility to fix these problems, unless you have no confidence in their ability to do so, which would be understandable from whats happened so far.
If this makes it any better, Hondata is showing the TPS to be open 112% when the car is off. I start it, it cranks for about 10 secs, then starts up. Hondata is now reading the TPS is being open 25%. I have not touched the gas pedal still.
I am just at a loss. Also, I am now getting a CEL for my IAT sensor, ECT sensor, and TPS sensor (all of which worked fine before). Ugh... at least it runs so I can get to and from work.
AFR's are around 13.0:1 at cruise (rich, I know), and 15.5 at idle, 12.0:1 at WOT. AFRs when the car is turning on (while engine is cold) drop to like 17.5 or less. I need to work out the tune a little bit.
BTW, I am finding more and more things wrong with the car which is making me want to stop by the shop personally and talk to the owner. For example, I asked the to make a test pipe from the manifold to my apexi ws2 exhaust. Instead, they cut off the end of the WS2 b pipe, and extended it to the end of the manifold. Now, i am screwed if I want to sell it off later on. >
Yea, definitely sucks. I always have problems with shops. Only once I got my car back from a shop without any problems.
They also hacked up my exhaust B pipe from the Apex-I kit instead of making a test pipe. I need to get 100% under the car to make sure of this, but I am pretty sure they did not make a test pipe, but rather just cut and extended my b pipe.

I will keep you in mind of course Maximus.
I called the shop again last night, just asking questions about things. I did this since I saw a lot of inconsistencies with the tune and the exhaust issue, along with the wiring issues and I wanted to be aware of everything going on with the car in case something happened. The person I have been working with got extremely defensive, hostile, and condescending since he thought I was questioning his knowledge. I ended up screaming at him and hanging up. F that place. Once friends caught wind of the news, many started bring up stories that they have heard about him etc etc.. great.
Oh well, I am on my own on this one.
I am done F-ing around with this. I am going to replace a sensor or two (IAT, ECT) and see if those codes go away. If not, I must assume the harness is fawked. If that is the case, I am saving up and buying a complete OBD1 Engine harness from Rywire (~$700). I am sure I should have done that in the beginning, but stupid me takes the car to a "custom shop".
I still plan on calling the shop owner and talking about this with him. Again, I will NEVER take my car to another shop ever again unless the car needs an inspection, or alignment. It is too much hassle and definitely NOT worth the money.
