Hobo's 2000 LX daily driver
You guys might finally see some forward motion on this car soon. I have saved up the money needed to rebuild my spare engine. It's not too exciting because it's gonna be an OEM rebuild, but it's gonna be a fresh start. I'm also really loving that Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish from the rim project. I may do a semi-polish on the block once it's back from the shop.
I also finally went out and bought a Harbor Freight dremel... uh "rotary tool". This means that I can FINALLY install the side marker lights that have been on my desk for a year. This means that I'll need to buy LEDs for the lights and wires to tap into the harnesses. When I order the LEDs, I'll also be buying the LEDs for the dome light and map lights.
Since it was a nice day, I went outside and inspected my audio setup. The boxes are sort of falling apart. They were home made and not great to begin with. After 30,000 miles of bouncing around in the trunk, plus some water damage, I'm thinking it's time for change. The subs still play great. No complaints. Been running the same subs since 2006. Just time for a new box.
Glad spring is here. Time for some progress.

ya water is MDF MAJOR WEAKNESS!!!!!!
you should see some boxes ive had out back for afew years.LOL they swollen up like crazy and falling apart.
mdf is just basically saw dust and glue. but keep it dry and its good for a very long time! so be sure to fix the water leakage issue before the new box gets put in!
but stock build or not. its a fresh motor with potential! you know how many old school hot rods are just refreshed motors still kickin @ss
hell id love to finish building my impalas motor back stock but those dam heads alone is gonna cost me like 1K bucks for the pair to be completly rebuilt! and i gotta pay some bills down all the time so i dont think ill ever get the stock 327 rebuilt
just gotta keep her for the long haul i keep telling myself, one day it will be all worth it!

Like magic, my fog light works again. Wtf. I checked everything. Bulb, wires, relay, switch. Could not get it to work. I was driving in the snow the other day (lol) and noticed the bastard flicker on. Hasn't turned off yet. Hmph. Whatever.
I wonder if its because of my battery somehow. The battery has 6 cells and I accidentally let one go mostly dry.
In other news, I owe the feds $47 for taxes... so no big check for me. (Time to go adjust my W4.) ...(would have been over 1000 if I didnt have a few credits.) Guess thats what happens when you change jobs and get bumped into another tax bracket. Gotta find me a woman so I can have a kid and get that credit.

probably just a corroded wire and the shacking shook it loose just enough
or maybe a bad solder joint on the crossover wire. next time it goes out probe the wire on the bulb thats out and see if it has power and check the other wire to be sure its grounded good as well, simple test light works great for both
if you have power and ground at both bulb connections then the bulb is just crappy and might have a hairline crack in its contacts

Lulz... IMO it is not worth it. You get extra money from tax refund, female takes most of it, and you don't have any time to install new parts on the car since you have a kid now and the female is out shopping and spending the money she took from the refund.
I have like 6 things sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Busy with work during the day during the week, and the little one during the day on the weekend and it is hitting ~22 F at night... too cold for me!
I am not looking forward to paying my local taxes ($260) since this job in DE cannot take out taxes for Chester County, PA fml.

I started working on the side marker templates today. I had planned on cutting today but got sidetracked with some electrical contracting.
The templates you can just print out aren't scaled to be 100% right. You pretty much have to use them as a reference and draw it out with a ruler and a pencil, using the numbers from the template as a guide. I got the left side template pretty much done by drawing it on card stock and using a razor to trim so the marker would drop right in. Gotta do a little work, but it shows promise for tomorrow (high of 64F).
I have some LEDs to order. I'll probably be converting the dome light and map lights to LEDs when I order bulbs for the side markers.
...does anyone know what kind of bulb the side markers take? I don't recognize it and its not printed on the bulb.

She not the mommy so it is a different situation when it comes to that. For the bulb, I'll have to check and see for you tomorrow.

I believe the sidemarkers use 168/194 wedge type bulbs
