OR

2. Found a guy selling his supercharged ek and asked him if he would sell the jrsc. I told him give him $800. He said $700, my intake manifold, and my crank pulley for the entire setup. So option 2 would be doing an entire oem rebuild on my motor, rings, bearings, etc. no need for a full build on a 6 psi pulley and not making crazy power.

Obviously option 2 is much cheaper and much more reliable. When I drive to school I do 80 miles a day, so I kinda wonder if going ***** to the was on a single cam turbo is dumb. At least with the jrsc itll be quick, probably like having a stock gsr.

What do you guys think, i have to give the guy an answer to tomorrow. I know pat will be helpful in my choice, and I think I'm getting a good deal at the price of the jrsc.

I dunno man, alotta people don't seem too happy with the supercharged D. I don't think it'll make 200hp.

Bought the supercharger today. Everything seems fine with it, he gave me just about everything. Fmu, relay for it, fuel management thing. Basically everything but the crank pulley and I don't even know what half the **** is for lol, I'm actually going to tune it tho and not run Jackson's ghetto untuned version. Pics to come. I believe my car is done for the year.

Nice. Looking forward to pics. What kind of tuning are you planning on using?

Keep your stock crank pulley. The bigger the crank, the more boost you will see. I had a 6psi kit, used the stock crank and made 7.4 psi.

The hardest part will be configuring the idler pulleys correctly along with the alternator. Once that is dealt with, you will be fine I am sure.

Look into getting bigger injectors soon. I was running at like 90% duty cycle at full boost with my stock injectors. RC 440s brought the duty cycle down to 60% at WOT. It would be a good idea to put in a Walbro if you don't already have one.

Alright I've got some pics. I plan on either trying to find a used s300 (depends on funds) over winter or just using like chrome. I will most likely be asking you a lot of questions about the install when it gets to that point lol. And you must've had a z6 jrsc which is why you have to hammer your tower. I just placed the supercharger on my intake studs last night and I had like 1/2" of clearence to the tower.

First things first, here's my TENTATIVE list of things to do this winter:
-OEM rebuild the y8
~hone and new OEM rings
~probably do ACL bearings
~ARP rod bolts
I actually got to know a guy that owns a machine shop while I was looking around at jobs and he offered to have me help him in the winter tearing down motors and such, so I would take my stuff to him for machining. He's built race motors and such so I trust him. I'd tank my block and head, probably bead blast them, and hone out the head.
-Redo the entire engine harness, I absolutely hate how it came out in the end so it needs to be redone
-Redo my engine bay, not satisified, more holes to fill, paint it for real, and remove the caulk like sealer Honda put on seams, when it warms up it just absorbs everything, I've got tar and feathers and **** stuck on mine lol, black stripes on the bay basicaly.
-POSSIBLY tuck my brake lines, not 100% yet
-Fix my LF wheel bearing and put stock studs back in
-Repaint the gt3's if I don't sell them to my friend
-Put the damn battery in the trunk
-Hopefully find a set of REAL seats, prederably some red ctr/itr Recaro's or a nice set of Bride's, I really want that baller status of real seats lol
-And of course put the JRSC on... plans for that are as follows
~Keep y8 crank pulley, buy 3.2" supercharger pulley which is about 11 psi
~Upgrade my injectors
~AEM fuel rail for bling
~Boost gauge and wideband
~Hopefully find a used s300 for a good price
~Thermal intake manifold gasket
~Either bore out my throttle body or buy a 60mm to match the gooseneck of the supercharger
-Kidd Racing Bisimoto replica header, so HOTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Alright here's some pics of the jrsc. I'm between painting the upper manifold part black and polishing the Jackson Racing lettering or painting the manifold aluminum or wie wheeling it polish and then painting the lettering black. The blower will stay its original greyish color that it is painted.

The jrsc itself is in good condition, the rotors themselves look good, no chipping or anything. Had it running on my Milwaukee m18 impact and it was making a little boost lol. The IAC holes are plugged which I am going to take out since I have no need to bypass mine.

As for the kit it is pretty complete (I THINK), mainly asking Pat, what is the alternator bracket? I'm assuming I don't have it lol, just have the idler pulleys. I gave the guy my alternator brackets as part of the trade since he said he needed em since hey are replaced whgen you put the supercharger on. So I don't know if he forgot to give me something or what. Here's what I all have:

IAC blocked off

Back of the whole thing

Box of fmu, some sort of boost controller, idler pulleys, and stuff lol

Rotors

Header I want

Looks pretty complete. The alternator bracket is the idler pulley basically.

Pushing 11 psi? I hope you are looking into either E85/meth injection/or getting an after cooler set-up.

IMO, I would avoid painting anything on that manifold. You are already going to see much higher intake temps. Any paint will not help.

Alright I'll just polish it then I think. But to you everything looks fine? since you are the expert lol. I'll have to figure out how the alternator bolts to the idler bracket. One of the pulleys is kind of eh, spins okay but not as good as the other so I'll consider replacing it.

I'm also considering fabbing up my own ram air thing out of carbon fiber.

Looks fine I would think. I should have taken pictures of the bracket bolted onto the motor before selling everything.

I was going though your thread trying to find a pic lol. So the alternator does boot straight to the bracket, there's like no pics of it on the interwebs.
