I personally have gotten help from informative people on the forum for any problem or situation i find myself in. I just graduated high school and while I am very knowledgable towards mechanics I still consider myself a novice when it comes to fixing things on my car. My point is that with the right help, common sense, caution and a little bit of confidence you can fix an enormous amount of problems. It was only a distributor problem... you could have fixed it.
