timing belt change questions
I am planning on changing my timing belt and water pump, but i dont have one of those pulley wrenches, and looking on ebay the cheapest one is 32 dollars.
I dont care about changing the other belts, so will i definitely have to remove the pulleys in order to install the timing belt and water pump, or can I just loosen them to move the belts out of the way?
Also, Im pretty sure my timing is off right now by a couple teeth, would I have to use the timing gun to set it before i do the change, or will putting the wheels at TDC fix that problem?
Im pretty nervous about doing it myself even though i ordered the chilton's manual. how many hours of labor would a garage charge for it?

for a price for a shop idk you would have to call and ask,
but i say you can do it, its not a hard job, and the markings are visable,
putting the timing marks tdc will fix ya up, it will run better and start faster when ya get a new belt and its on time.
you can download the manual instead of buying it,
if you have the tools and have a common since about engines you can have it done it about 2-3 hrs.
just make sure your timing marks are dead on, and also your belt is tight and the tensioner is tight.
if you have any ?????'s just let me know
