Thanks! I am really excited to get this installed and to see if it makes any changes regarding the CELs as well as changes (visually) to the engine bay. Should look MUCH cleaner. I am soooo amped right now about it. Sucks that I cannot put my car down now and do the install, but I have to get to work somehow!

Once that is done, I am going for the fuel tuck, clutch line tuck, and battery relocation (trunk) in order to really make the bay look clean.

Very nice! I'm looking forward to seeing how you come along with this! Several bits sound like they'd be helpful in giving me ideas for my own project if nothing else! I really like the battery relocation idea, and I've seen some 'after' pictures of full-tuck-jobs under the hood that just look amazing.

Can't wait to see how yours turns out!!!

Right now, Scott7761230051305618951023054 has me beat on the engine bay tuck stuff, and he will forever hold that spot since he shaved the bay and filled in all the little holes etc etc. It looks really nice IMO. I wish I had that type of skill and dedication. :/

Just some random things, David at Rywire (or Rywire as a company in general) has amazing customer support and is able to answer every question I have. All around a good place to do business with so far. I'll post up again once the harness is actually in the car.

Found a minor oil leak between the OE oil cooler sandwich plate and the engine block. Apparently, this is common in H motors. Picked up a new O-ring and Vtec solenoid gaskets from hondapartsdeals.com. Those are basically the only two gaskets (except the head gasket) which I did not replace during the swap.

Lastly, I am getting a new PCV valve from my work since they are allowing me to test a brand new baffled catch can they have developed in house. I know, no biggie, but it is cool when the company you work for is buying replacement OEM Honda parts for your car!

Ok guys, I believe I am going to start the harness swap tonight after the little one goes to bed. For anyone who has done something like this, what pre-cautions do I need to take? Can I just simply unplug everything all *****-nilly and then pull the harness out? If so, I have a feeling that I can pull the "stock" harness out within 30 minutes.

Anyways, any advice is appreciated. I do plan on removing the battery/tray in order to work down there with ease.

EDIT - The new harness is 100% labeled, so I do not need to worry about that side.

I would suggest yanking the battery tray, unplugging it from the ECU, pulling that part out, put the new one in, and start yanking and replacing one plug at a time so you're 100% sure it's all good.

Yea, that is a good idea. I might just take the rywire harness to the car, and match up all the plugs to make sure everything is going to go smoothly in that manner. Once confirmed, I will start pulling the "OE" harness. I would HATE to yank the old harness out, install the rywire, only to have sensor/plug compatibility issues and ultimately go back to square one.

Ok, stock harness is basically out. This install should be fairly simply tomorrow afternoon. I was able to match up all the needed plugs. Just have to pull out the battery tray and pull the wires through.

Pics tomorrow showing the Rywire vs. the stock harness along with installed pics of the harness etc.

I am happy to say that everything is working perfectly. Car is running better than ever, zero CELs, and no hesitation throughout the power band. Even better, my VSS is functioning now so my speedo and odometer work again!
