Hobo's 2000 LX daily driver
I think you should swap to manual. Driving an auto sucks haha. As far as the head chatter, check out the valve lash. Only took me about 30 min to do the adjustments on mine and it quieted the head nicely. I also got lucky and found an Si cluster super cheap, forget switching all the bulbs to amber.
I don't know which SC to go with yet, much less tuning. I'm split between a JRSC or Vortec. I'm not looking to be too fast or to prove anything so I could likely do fine with a Vortec. And it's kinda hard to find a complete D series JRSC for cheap.
As for the 5 speed swap, yeah, I'd want to do it. Kinda wish I could find a built auto tranny though because I'm lazy.

There are NO civics in the yards here. I'm in the south. Everyone hates those "tokyo drift" and "jap cr*p" cars here. We've got nothing but a ton of old camaros and stuff.
Not really, but as far as 96-00 Civics, it's bone dry here. 92-95, there are a couple. Drivetrains are usually blown or gone.

No more 4 door Si concept. I'm gonna be doing a mild boost on a D16y7. Vtec is overrated on single cams. I'm gonna prove that a non-vtec build is just as fun. This is gonna be a hella slow build. There's gonna be a separate engine built outside of the car. It'll take years because I'm poor. My goal is to hit around 180 whp. It's a street car, not a race car. But it'll be a boosted 4 door.
This will be my part list for the build. Keep in mind that it's gonna take ages to get everything pieced together as my income sucks a lot. This is the list fron Forty04's Building a Turbo Kit DIY.

Yeah, so. Boosted engine. I'd like some recommendations. This is going to be a street car. I'll be converting it to a 5 speed in the process. I'm gonna need a lot of help because I'm still a boost noob. There are two turbo DIYs that I'll be looking at for information.
Goals:
I'm wanting to hit around 180 hp.
I want to keep my AC.
I want to make it a sleeper. This means a blacked out intercooler
(God, I hope I can keep my fogs with the intercooler piping)
So...
What size turbo? Internally or externally gated? What management is decent for m purposes? Any vacuum manifolds you'd recommend? Specific turbo manifolds?
I haven't given up on a supercharger though. If I find one cheap enough... JRSC'd D16y7 would suit me.
