I'll have to try that tomorrow.

and if you have the crank pulley bolt out just start hammering on the pulley to knock it off, either copper hammer or wooden block of course instead of just a steel hammer head.
I can't even get it off yet because I don't have a socket big enough. Yet.

as to the main cap/girdle i think you have to remove the oil pump on the front of the motor to get it off. I THINK. i tried pulling it off my old z6 and im pretty sure thats what was holding it on the block.
That actually makes a lot of sense. But of course I can't get the oil pump off until I can get the pulley off. Figures.

Flywheel is off. Crank pulley is off. Traded a 6 pack for manual flywheel bolts and an extra oil pan. The pan isn't the right one so I'll have to swap it out today. -_-

F@cking awesome... how did this come about? Did he have a CL ad asking for a 6 pack of beer, or was it someone that you knew?

It was Daniel, my shop guy. He's a VW/Honda man and the other mechanic in the shop is a Honda master mechanic. They have spare parts out the ***.

^What kind of setup were you running and what did you have done to the block and head, performance wise? If any?

The engine was all stock. I just slapped an eBay kit on there and called it good. I was getting a rod knock during tuning so we had to cut the tune short at 160 whp, which didn't surprise me since I was hearing signs of a spun/worn rod bearing before I boosted it. Unfortunately, I had fun with it for only two months before it was stolen and stripped. And think I had a thread on here about my car a year ago. I have pics if you want

At last count there were 12 spare engines in the shop but they're all spoken for. They run a lot of 24 hours of Lemons races. I think they have a chumpcar build too. And besides, shipping would KILL.
