do you still need a automatic Y8 intake throttle or the manifold also?
my junkyard just got in a 4door 96-98 I THINK. not positive if it was 99-00 i just remember the yellow on the outter tails so i figure 96-98. i snagged the throttle body from it. wasnt sure if you still wanted the Y8 intake manifold or not. if so let me know and ill try and snag it tomorrow.

I found a z6 rotor in my parts box that worked fine. I needed to use the y7 TB to keep the 3 wire IACV. I found out that the manifold I had was the correct one. What I DO need is the air box and the pipe that connects to the throttle body. If that was intact, see what they want for it. If it's cheap, let me know.

[edit]
The pictures finally loaded for me. That looks identical to a y7 TB as far as I can tell... That's odd.

no sorry the intake filter was gone and the hose was ripped in half.
if i was you id just keep your cheap intake. they work just fine just louder of course but better performance. if its to loud for you you could always switch to a cold air intake to tuck it further away into wheel well.

the motor was a d16y8 vtec motor. from a 4door with sunroof.

The engine is now timed properly! It was advanced around 15 degrees...

It can now handle hills, doesn't idle funny, etc. Completely different personality. Very happy with the swap.

Compression numbers are in. After 1400 miles, numbers are: 160, 152, 152, 152.

Im a bit disappointed. I expected higher from a brand new motor.

Sigh. Yeah, like Marcus hinted... Car is totalled. People like us know that it's completely rebuildable, but to insurance, it's an 11 year old Honda Civic. Maybe if I provide receipts showing all the engine stuff, that'll add value, but who knows. The insurance adjustor will be around whenever...

Goodnight Celeste...

I had her towed back home so I could look at the damage. The Password: JDM hood dampers had to come off so I could get the hood open. The distributor cap is broken. Core support, fenders, hood, radiator, condenser, and AC lines are toast. There's probably a broken plug on the shift solenoids because the D4 light blinks.

Kinda sad, seeing it sitting there wrecked. It ends right where it started.

[edit] Oh yeah, story.

Cliffs notes: I30 west at I630 on-ramp. There are 5 lanes. 3 lanes go to I30, 2 lanes go to I630. Some IDIOT in a pickup STOPS in lane 2 because he missed his exit. A NORTH LITTLE ROCK COP WAS RIGHT BEHIND HIM. The idiot in the truck jumped across the 3rd lane, into the 4th lane, cutting off a Mercury Mountaineer SUV. The driver of the Merc slammed on her brakes. The driver of the Toyota Tacoma behind her also locked his brakes up, but he still hit her. I was behind the Toyota, and I locked my brakes up too. Had no time to really react, to swerve, nothing. Slammed into him. The guy who caused the accident kept going. The NLR cop didn't even stop, just kept going. But at least the state trooper who worked the accident was a really great guy. After he let the other two vehicles go, he and I chatted about Hondas while waiting for the wrecker.

Those two pictures at the end are the most depressing things I've ever seen.
The contrast nearly made me shed a tear.
Well, curious of what you're doing next...
