Picked up a clutch and flywheel tonight. I ended up going with the Competition Clutch Stage 4 (6 puck) with the CC lightweight flywheel.

Planning on finding some bolts for the engine stand, and buying a crank pulley removal tool / piston ring tool tomorrow! Harbor Freight, here I come! haha

Bolts for the stand are expensive, damn Honda using fine threads makes everything cost twice as much!

^^ I couldn't find a M12 x 1.25 set of bolts any where today. Ugh. Looks like I will head over to Fastenal tomorrow morning before work

Picked up a $10 angle grinder, cut-off wheels, piston ring wrench and a replacement 19mm impact socket at harbor freight today. I'll try and practice with the angle grinder on the spare VC I have sitting in my garage.

Started re-wrapping the center console and door panels. My son is growing out of the Thomas the Train phase and the fabric is sun faded. I am replacing it with a black semi shiny fabric. Pics when it is complete, but probably wont happen for a few days.

Received the clutch/flywheel, D16z6 hard water pipe and Tstat housing, and the crank pulley removal tool this week I have the bolts needed to install the engine onto the stand already ordered.....just waiting on a phone call to come and pick them up.

Crap... I am getting bad with the lack of pictures.

Door panels and center console are done. They look okay. I will probably end up trying to find a stretchier material to work with next time as this didn't stretch much making for a visible fold in the fabric here and there. Oh well. I need a new driver door panel anyways.

I picked up the bolts for the engine I needed on Wednesday and went right to work. The engine is now bare with the exception of the crank still in it. Pulling the block apart is a lot easier than I expected. Easier than the head IMO.

Next steps will be to get the girdle/crank out of the block, assemble the piston/rods, put the piston rings on, and then off to the machine shop!

^^ How do I get the damn thing off?

I have all the bolts out, the oil pump off, the right side cover off. Now what? I am yanking on it, but nothing. Hit it with a rubber mallet a few times, still nothing. Any suggestions? Am I missing something? I do not necessarily want to jam a screwdriver/pry bar in there.

Jam a pry bar in there, one side, then the other. It'll come loose.

My h22 girdle/mains took a lot of persuasion to come off. Just kept tapping each side of the girdle with a deadblow until it rocked itself off, was hitting it back and forth for probably 15 minutes literally, took a long time for it to really start moving. DONT USE A PRY BAR. Take a plastic mallet or rubber or best a dead blow and just go from each side a couple hits. You will rock it off. It is the right way to do it, I was taught that by our head tech at work who has done fully built motors and oem rebuilds on motors at work. It will work just takes some time.
